Today we celebrate the day that our forefathers declared their independence from King George and British rule. As you can see by the image of this document, our leaders in history made such an important declaration on one page…not 1000. Better yet, the people could read it and sign it, understanding it…they didn’t have to wait until it was passed to read it. Pelosi, are you taking notes here?

Of course, the opening words, “In Congress”, would not invoke images of a corrupt governing body that has a 25% approval rating, at best. It didn’t represent pork barrel spending, Congressman insulting the electorate, caucuses based on race, career politicians with 30 years in office, ethics committees with no ethics, or Representatives that freely spent more money than they had to spend. 

Contrary to what the atheists may tell you, it made reference to God, as we were a Nation founded by Christians. This began in the first paragraph with, “…the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and Nature’s God entitled them …”, and later terms like Creator, Supreme Judge, and Divine Providence. 

The Declaration recognized these beliefs, asserting that, “…that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” Funny how the liberal lefties will argue against capital punishment by invoking both the word of God and the words of the Declaration, yet those same people argue for the right to kill unborn babies. I just don’t get it. 

The Declaration declares, “These rights exist; they are not granted by a ruler or government.”  Well then, they must be granted by that higher power that the atheists refuse to acknowledge. So, if they don’t believe in God, does that mean they don’t have these rights? I’m just asking…. 

So, if we are to make sure these rights are given to all of us, it states, “Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.” Read that one again, Mr. Congressman. WE THE PEOPLE give you the right to govern…that means you, too, King Obama.  We’re not here to serve your whims; we’re here to tell you what we want you to do. 

Pay attention, Mr. President: “That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government …” Time for you to go. This November, we’ll get a head start and get rid of your communist cronies in Congress, first. Then, we’re coming for you. 

This one is for you, voters…”But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government …”  This November, you have a duty to go to the polls and throw these bums out of office. 

Next in the Declaration came a list of the reasons that the colonists wanted to break away from King George. It resembles many of the reasons we want to break away from King Obama. See if any of these sound familiar; 

“He has plundered our seas, ravaged our Coasts, burnt our towns, and destroyed the lives of our people.” Can you say, “Gulf oil spill” anyone? 

“He is at this time transporting large Armies of foreign Mercenaries to compleat the works of death, desolation and tyranny…” Black Panther party, Acorn, or? 

“He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us…”  Are we as a nation under King Obama not more divided than ever? 

“In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury.”  Tea Party Patriots, being called racists, nut jobs, extremists, and other things by the King Obama administration seems to bring to mind such things in this quote. 

“A Prince whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.” I couldn’t have said that better myself. 

“Nor have We been wanting in attentions to our British brethren. We have warned them from time to time of attempts by their legislature to extend an unwarrantable jurisdiction over us. We have reminded them of the circumstances of our emigration and settlement here. We have appealed to their native justice and magnanimity, and we have conjured them by the ties of our common kindred to disavow these usurpations, which would inevitably interrupt our connections and correspondence. They too have been deaf to the voice of justice and of consanguinity.”  You sure this wasn’t written recently, like say, after they passed health care legislation? 

“And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.”
