The following was written by Gina Miller. Her opinions don’t necessarily reflect those of, but because they’re here, they probably do.

It is hard to believe it has already been ten years.  It seems like just a moment ago that I was driving to work at the radio station to do my midday show on our light rock sister station.  It was on my car radio that morning, a Tuesday I will never forget, that I heard my boss, who co-hosts the morning show, announce that two jetliners had been flown into the twin towers of the World Trade Center.

The information did not fully process when I first heard it.  How could it?  Nothing in my memory could relate to such a thing.  After I arrived at work, and the rest of the day’s awful events unfolded, the magnitude of the horror very slowly sunk in.  We went wall-to-wall with live coverage on the air.  I covered the events during my time slot, while scarcely believing it could really be happening.  The tears came in between my cracking of the mic to give live updates, and the bewilderment persisted in my mind.

As it became painfully clear that we had been attacked by our Islamist mortal enemies, the American people came together in a rare unity unseen in many, many decades.  In the brief and precious days after that horrific Islamic act of war against America, we stood together, prayed together, and held each other up.

Do you remember the signs and the bumper stickers that appeared all over the country?  The signs and stickers said, “We will never forget.”  Do you remember Old Glory flying in profusion everywhere you looked?  Do you remember how we loved each other and how we all felt the hellish blow across the nation, and how we each grieved the loss of our dear fellow Americans?

What has happened in ten, short years?  We have seen our nation plunged into seemingly endless wars in Iraq and Afghanistan—wars it seems our leaders do not actually want to win, judging from the strange, politically correct way in which the wars are being waged, with our troops’ hands tied with outrageous rules of engagement that no sane leader would impose on his men.  With elusive victory nowhere in sight, the continuing loss of so many lives of America’s best and brightest and the wounding of so many more in these wars multiplies the pain for the wounded and the families of the dead left behind.

In ten years, we have also seen a whitewash of the enemy.  We have seen a downplaying of who it was that attacked us on that day.  We have seen endless claims from the media, politicians and other leaders that Islam is a “religion of peace;” this, despite massive amounts of evidence to the contrary.  The mountains of senselessly murdered bodies and destruction of property at the hands of Islamic maniacs clearly declare that Islam is anything but peaceful.

The common “mainstream” refrain is that Muslims who commit atrocities against their fellow man are a tiny minority and that most Muslims are so-called moderate Muslims who would never support violence in the name of Allah.  Yet, polls taken throughout the Muslim world and in the West indicate strong Muslim support for the backward, barbaric Islamic Shariah law and even modest support for terrorist groups like Hamas and Hezbollah.

We have seen a surge in creeping Shariah law right here in America.  There have been instances of court challenges that pit Shariah against the laws of America, and we have seen American judges elevate Shariah over the United States Constitution.  I reported on one instance this past January,

“Did you know that the United States government is using your tax dollars to support Islamic Shariah law in America?  Yep.  And, a federal judge—playing for the enemy, in my opinion—has just sided against the Constitution and the American people and with the Islamists in upholding the policy.

As reported… by the Thomas More Law Center,

‘Last week, Judge Lawrence P. Zatkoff, a federal district court judge in Michigan, dismissed a constitutional challenge to the U.S. Government‘s bailout of AIG [American International Group], which used over a hundred million dollars in federal tax money to support Islamic religious indoctrination through the funding and promotion of Sharia-compliant financing (SCF). SCF is financing that follows the dictates of Islamic law.

… Richard Thompson, President and Chief Counsel of TMLC, commented: ‘Judge Zatkoff’s ruling allows for oil-rich Muslim countries to plant the flag of Islam on American soil. His ruling ignored the uncontested opinions of several Sharia experts and AIG’s own website, which trumpeted Sharia-compliant financing as promoting the law of the Prophet Mohammed and as an ethical product, ‘and a new way of life.’ His ruling ignored AIG’s use of a foreign Islamic advisory board to control investing in accordance with Islamic law.’

Continued Thompson: ‘This astonishing decision allows the federal government as well as AIG and other Wall Street bankers to explicitly promote Sharia law—the 1200-year-old body of Islamic canon law based on the Koran, which demands the destruction of Western Civilization and the United States. This is the same law championed by Osama bin Laden and the Taliban; it is the same law that prompted the 9/11 Islamic terrorist attacks; and it is the same law that is responsible for the murder of thousands of Christians throughout the world. The Law Center will do everything it can to stop Sharia law from rearing its ugly head in America.’”

One of the most breathtakingly audacious things we have seen since 9-11 is the brazen attempt by Islamists to erect a monster victory mosque just two short blocks from Ground Zero.  This is one of the more disgusting affronts to America in the wake of those Muslim terror attacks.  The astonishing thing about this proposed mega-mosque is that it has the support of the leaders of New York!  What kind of insane thinking inhabits the minds of Mayor Michael Bloomberg and the other city officials who gave a thumbs-up to this diabolical project?

In May of last year, I expressed my outrage in one of several columns I have written on this subject,

“The more I think about this, the angrier I become.  By now you’ve heard of the plans by a group of Muslims to build a 13 to 15-story mosque and Muslim “cultural” center just two blocks north of Ground Zero in Manhattan.

Last year, a Muslim real estate company, Soho Properties, bought the building at Park Place for 4.85 million in cash (where that money came from remains to be seen).  This site was a Burlington Coat Factory until September 11, 2001 when part of one of the hijacked plane’s landing gear fell through the roof of the building.  The Factory has been closed since 9-11. The leader of the project to build the mammoth mosque is Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, founder of the American Society for Muslim Advancement, who blamed the United States for 9-11 because of our treatment of Muslims.  He said that Osama Bin Laden was ‘made in the USA.’

… Amazingly enough, this project has received the support of some city leaders, including the Manhattan Community Board which voted unanimously to allow the project to proceed.

… To deny that Islam is at war with the West is foolish.  The Islamists have a powerful advantage in America because of our constitutional laws of religious freedom.  Although Islam and Shariah law are more akin to a political ideology, they are regarded as a legitimate religion, therefore they are protected under our laws.  This protection has allowed the creeping, stealth invasion of Islam in America.

Don’t doubt for a minute that this is about Muslim conquest and making a bold statement to the Muslim world, a mere stone’s throw from the site of Ground Zero.  They are not able to openly overrun our country, so they are trying to take us down from within, incrementally, by taking advantage of our laws and freedoms.  If this abomination to the families of 9-11 victims and all of America is allowed to be built, it sends a powerful sign of victory to Muslims around the world.

… America has to quit regarding Islam as just another ordinary religion.  It is no such thing, and if we don’t wake up to the fact that Islam is at war with us, we may one day wake up with our head in their hands.”

One small blessing in this ordeal is that the Ground Zero mosque is still not yet built, and their wicked goal of having the grand opening on the 10th anniversary of 9-11 will not happen.

Dick Morris reported on Tuesday that his group delivered the signatures of over 70,000 people to the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation protesting the $5 million in federal grant money for which the Ground Zero mosque developers had the gall to apply.  It is unimaginable that America would allow a monster mega-mosque at Ground Zero, much less that federal taxpayer money would be donated to the building of it.  But I guess we should not be surprised at this, since we currently have a Muslim-sympathetic communist in the White House.

Speaking of Barry Soetoro, or whatever his name is, a very tricky and subtle hijacking of the memory of 9-11 has taken place under his stay in the United States presidency.  Shortly after Obama took office, September 11th was declared to be a “national day of service” by the Democrat-controlled Congress.  Some families of 9-11 victims had reportedly started a day of remembrance tradition on the anniversary of 9-11, and now the Obama administration has latched on to it and patched it on to a Democrat program.

Now, this may not seem like a big deal to some, but this is nothing more than another attempt to redefine and distract from the events of September 11, 2001.  Instead of being a day of remembrance of our lost loved ones and the enemies who took them from us, this national service campaign co-opts 9-11 to make it a part of Obama’s “United We Serve” program.  The congressional legislation that made this “official” sounds like something targeting kids during 1930s Germany.

For Barack Obama to push his volunteer service agenda, he did not need to hijack September 11th.  September 11th should not be a day to push the communist Left’s agenda, but if you look at the legislation in which 9-11 was declared a national day of service, you will see the Left’s paw prints all over it.  With 37 cosponsors, all Democrats, the “The Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act” of 2009 sounds like a program for creating the Hitler Youth brigade right here in America.  Please pay close attention to what the public schools are teaching your kids.

So, here we are, just a few days away from ten years after.  I find it astonishing that we have allowed the Islamists to continue their creeping invasion of our nation.  They have invaded our government, our military and other major institutions.  No one is stopping them right now, but the good news is that more and more Americans are waking up to the diabolical intentions of the Islamists and are working to put a stop to them.  Their own stated goals for the destruction of western civilization by stealth invasion should tell us all we need to know and should steel our resolve to firmly resist their subversive efforts.

On this tenth anniversary of 9-11, I will remember.  I will not forget the earthly Islamic enemies of America, and I will continue to do what little I can to sound the alarm on the increasing danger they represent to our freedoms, our American way of life and our very life itself.
